Q: I’m not used to making online purchases, how can I know that purchasing from www.jedcoltd.ca is safe?
A: We’ve been a trusted jeweler with an outstanding reputation since 1948. Got questions about your jewelry before making a purchase? We’ve probably heard it before. We’ll be sure to give you any and all information that you need to make the most informed decision that you can make. However, we believe here at Jedco Ltd. that there’s nothing quite like seeing, holding and wearing the jewelry before making the purchase, so we recommend making a personal visit to our store to get some hands on experience with the product before making the purchase.
Q: Do you purchase silver, gold/platinum, diamonds and other precious gems?
A: For silver, the answer is no. However, with gold/platinum, diamonds and other precious gems we do this entirely on a case-by-case scenario. You’ll have to bring the item to our store so that we can examine it in person.
Q: How do you do appraisals and how expensive are they?
A: When you bring in products for appraisals, all items stay on-premises 100% of the time, all items are protected under our in-house insurance so you can be sure that your valuable jewelry will be secure. All appraisals are $45 for the first item, and $40 for every item after.
Q: Are your appraisals applicable for insurance claims?
A: Absolutely. We’ve been the trusted appraiser for insurance companies everywhere for over 60 years now.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment to get an item appraised?
A: Not at all, just come in whenever we’re open, and leave the item with us. As we do with all of our work, we’ll give you a job number that you can reference us with. When you come with your appraisal, please bring any prior paperwork/certificates/old appraisals that have been done on the item.
Q: How long does it take for my item to get appraised?
A: Just one or two days. However, if your appraisal request has many items on it, it may take longer.
Q: Are you able to custom make jewelry?
A: Yes, it’s as simple as coming in and showing us pictures of what you would like us to make. Before we make it, we always make sure to fully inform the customer of any potential dangers of the product they would like to be made (for example, some ring settings don’t have a fully secure setting for the stone, and some rings are difficult to resize).
